The tax affairs of charities is one of the areas in which we specialise.

We provide excellent planning and compliance services across every area of the taxation of charities registered in the UK. Our consultants and advisers have a wealth of experience both in the law of England and Wales as well as in Scotland and how these laws affect the tax affairs of registered charities.

Compliance

We arrange the preparation, completion and submission of charities' Tax Returns, including all relevant supplementary pages, and calculate their liabilities to tax. We keep our charity clients advised of all liabilities as and when they arise and in good time to ensure that these are all settled on time. We prepare any necessary elections and claims on charities' behalf and deal with all of their tax-related enquiries and correspondence.

Planning

As well as arranging and maintaining our charity clients' general tax affairs, we are constantly monitoring their liabilities with a view to providing tax-efficient solutions which will reduce their overall liabilities. We believe that an ongoing and overall review should be undertaken at all times to ensure that any areas where savings can be made are not overlooked.

We are continuously reviewing our charity clients' affairs at all points throughout the tax calendar, looking at all options and avenues available to make savings in terms of tax.

In particular, we carry out a systematic review of any donees' potential liabilities to tax in conjunction with those of the charity, thus ensuring that the administration of any charity is carried out in the most tax-efficient and beneficial manner.

Reduced Fees

We are particularly aware of the aims and purposes of charities.

Consequently, our fees for any work undertaken on behalf of a charity registered in the UK will be kept to a minimum. We undertake to charge a special rate for registered charities ensuring that we do no more than recover our costs.

In certain cases, our advisers will deal with the affairs of a registered charity on a pro bono basis and we will provide all of our services free of charge. In such cases, we will even undertake certain work on charities' behalf without recovering any of our costs.
